What is the consensus for the best (home) bullet moly coating?

Any special procedures for cleaning bullets before coating?

lh,

I just tumble in corn cob until shiny to clean them. Then throw them in with about a pound of ball bearings and a small (1/10th teaspoon or less) of moly powder. If you know someone on a diet, a 1/10th teaspoon measure is included with Sweet and Low sugar substitute. About 45 minutes in a Midway tumbler. Rinse in water and Dawn, roll dry on a towel your significant other won't miss. Still using the same four ounces of moly which came in the Midway kit I purchased. 10's of thousands bullets done.

Hmmm, Midway moly. Ok I'll talk to them.

Acetone looks better than the possible small damages from tumbling twice (once to clean & once to coat). But, again, I'll ask Midway.

tumbling with corn does no damage to the bullets. i have been using the midway kit for 8 years now. i have done over 35,000 bullets on the jar of moly that came with the kit. i have shot groups in the .061 with these moly rounds

If you want experience, listen to what folks have to say here. Corn cob or walnut will remove the oxidation and the wax layer on the bullet. Also, clean the bowel after about 4-5 lots. Also, see NECO USA for more info about moly and moly kits.
