Damn, that's an awesome selection of vibrant fish. The stuff we get here in CO looks old and usually smells the same. That Yellow Tail looks damn near sushi grade, we have to go to Whole Foods to get anything that even looks half as good!

Here's a different angle. Closest to us is grouper, snapper, and dolphin. Some people call it mahi-mahi, dolphin isn't the mammal.
Fried grouper, cole slaw, hush puppies, cheese grits.
Rare tuna seared in sesame oil, white rice with Asian vegetables.
Scampi.
Conch chowder.
Broiled, split tails with clarified butter, baked Idaho potato.
Citrus snapper.

I live in the people's republic of MA. I get most of that all the time. The only good thing about living here. Just made a boulabaise (seafood stew) tonight. Mussels, clams (hard shell), shrimp, Pacific cod, potatoes and onions, garlic, pepper, tomato paste and water. Great with some apothic red wine. Delicious..........

Just get a kinda round burrito sized pieces soad them in a marinade for the day, roll them in sesame seeds and roll it on a REAL hot plate on the stove top. Gets all nice and brown on the outside cooks about a quarter of an inch deep at most. I am hungry.

Looking at those prices makes me glad I have never paid for it. I have paid allot more then that to catch it more then a few times though.

Seeing as Winnipeg Mb is essentially the center of the continent, that is a beautiful sight. Especially considering my Hongcouver upbringing. Going down to the docks, and purchasing your dinner right off the boat was great. Drive home a few blocks away, and 'grits is on'.
Now, if it ain't "flash-frozen" then it ain't fresh. I'm just so thankful that my Lady decided to partake in fishing this past few months. We're almost finished outfitting the "Moose-Barge" and we'll be out there.

Crab clams and mussles cost 7.00 for a tag for one year and a little gas and time.

I live in the southern part of Puget sound...you would think that we would have stores like that all over the place, but unfortunately, that isn't the case. I have to drive 5 miles to even find a seafood store, and there are only three within 25 miles that are worth driving too.
I do have one goodie locally though...an oyster farm about 3 miles from my door. The last time I went there, they didn't have any yearling oysters shucked yet, but told me to wait 15 minutes, and I could get a fresh jar freshly shucked. Damn those were good!

Dungeness crab runs about $5.99 to $6.99 at a good sale up here. I usually try and get about three large ones. That takes me about 45 minutes to crack and clean all three, and is enough crab meat to last me about 36 hours.
I have an old dog who is nearly toothless, and he loves crab because it is one of those things he doesn't have trouble chewing. Now, whenever I show with crab in a bag, the dog can obviously smell it, and he calmly sits nearby drooling until I'm done, and of course my old friend gets some too.
