Range Report estimated FGMM MV

I am heading out with a new rifle this weekend with new ammo that I don't normally shoot. I know that Federal lists their FGGM ammo 168 at 2650fps. Any guesses on the MV out of a 16" barrel so I can get a starting point. I won't be able to chrono it before I head out. I was thinking around 2540.

My factory savage cut to 18" shot the 168's @ 2550, 175's @ 2450

Not perfect, but might help you a bit anyway

that helps thanks! That's about 10fps faster than what I figured the 16" barrel to shoot, so I think I can at least get started.

ended up running 2648 on the high 2620 on the low.

Verified yesterday with my drop at 600 being right at 17moa. I definitely wasn't expecting it to run this fast.

Is that a bolt gun or AR platform?

Just curious, my 16" AR gets about 2500 fps with Black Hills 175 match.

Bolt gun. Stiller
