Anyone know of a quality stock replacement that doesn't take machining to fit the 'new' 522 model. The originals are terribly brittle.

Not looking for a folder, but anything that can take some abuse and use would be better than the orig. 'glass' stock

Re: GSG 522 ideas

I have a GSG-5 and have replaced the stock and handguard pins with actual HK push pins. While researching that mod I ran across some sites where GGS-5 owners used surplus MP5 stocks, it did take some time with a Dremel or a file but nothing that would constitute "machining."

Re: GSG 522 ideas

heard the real deal MP5 stocks work with tuning, but would assume there is better direct fitting avail. just not having much luck with google fu and don't need to buy more cheap plastic that populates googly. or take the chance that is...

Here is what I done. The ATI version has Airsoft quality plastic... but it is a fun gun.

I got some Insulation in a Can (the red), some 5/8 threaded rod, 5/8 washers and nuts. I placed about 4 of the rods with equal nuts and washers balancing them out in the stock and then sprayed in the insulation.

After a few days, I razored out the foam to fit on the stock... and a little more heft.

I replaced the stock with a prefitted surplus MP5 stock. You can find them on the web at HKparts or Rrages. They run in the $60 range. Makes the gun heavier and I think more stable. Just checked, they seem harder to find right now.

I also replaced the pins and upgraded the machien screws.

Good luck.
