Getting ready to get a new jewel. Ive been told by a few people to go with the black ops precision recon but with so many builders out there and some that I havent heard of, I turn to the education of the fellow SnipersHide users. Any and all advice will help.

Re: Thougts on Black ops precision vs others

I say go for it and you can't go wrong with BOP / Mike Bush and his crew!! Talk to him or one of the guys and cover what you're looking for. I had an Infidel and just had a custom finished up recently for my wife and can't say enough good things about it.

Be patient though as ordering from any of the top builders there is a wait time........

Good luck!

Re: Thougts on Black ops precision vs others

Yea the wait time is not an issue. I have an advanced sniper school coming up next March so I do have a while for the build. Looked into GAP as well but have recently heard of many more.

Mike and his crew Black Ops have a stellar reputation for good reason, it's deserved. Make the call and deal with confidence.

I live about where they(BOP) build them so, I took a ride up and looked them over. If I had the cash "I would buy one"! Top notch work.

Re: Thougts on Black ops precision vs others

Their stuff is top notch, the folks there are more than a class act and the customer care continued after delivery is excellent as well.

You really won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to getting my rifle from them.

Mike is a great guy and a great builder. Excellent attention to detail!!
Here is one of mine from him in 6.5 Creedmoor. I also own one from him in .308 --- You cannot go wrong with a rifle from him.

Been talking with mike for years I own a Lot of guns from diferent builders and after playing with some of his I now am working with him on multiple builds lol. His guns are amazing.

This was my first Black Ops Rifle - the Perseus. I liked it so much that I have a Recon on order at the moment and should have it soon. Mike is a great guy to do business with and I count him as a good friend too. Once you have and shoot a
Black Ops rifle you will get others and you will also know what all the fuss is all about as the fit and finish is best I have seen - and awesome shooters too - see below.

Re: Thougts on Black ops precision vs others

Yea I have made my mind up and the recon is my choice. I'm currently using a Rem LTR as a sniper in my department. I have no more trust in the rifle as the groups went from a little less than .5 inch to all over. The rifle will group and the next 3 round string is all over while sandbagged. Done with the trouble shooting. My surgeon 300mag is less than .25 every time I shoot it. Built rifles for me for now on.

It's what the 260 Rem launch should have been.

Excellent match and hunting ammo choices
Good factory brass
Great bullet selection for reloaders
Good case design in a very accurate setup.

The Hornady factory ammo is excellent stuff and it's very affordable for those that don't reload.

If you're hung up on the Recon there's an unfired one for sale on gun broker. It's listed as an UGSW which is BOPs previous name. It's all the same though, same quality, same builder. Just a thought if you'd want one now is all without the wait.

No I am not the seller or associated........

Re: Thougts on Black ops precision vs others

Fit, finish and making all the edges just flow and work into the stock are amazing. If I had better pics you'd see what I mean.

My supplied parts built up and finished.
