Rifle Scopes Nightforce high speed vs non high speed

Re: Nightforce high speed vs non high speed

You're getting 20moa of elevation per turn with hi-speed vs the 10 moa per turn with the standard.

It's a bit of convenience. It will be less confusing when dialing way out there. You just have to decide if it's worth the extra money.

So far, I'm good with standard. But.... I wouldn't mind having them.

Re: Nightforce high speed vs non high speed

The biggest difference for me is the fact that it's less than one full turn to get to 1000 yards. Thus decreasing the chance of me fucking up a stage because I was a full revolution off on the first three targets on said stage.

You can't really appreciate high speed knobs until you try them. They are very handy for the reason ColoWyo stated. One turn on my .243 and I'm at 1k yard adjustment. Very easy to keep track of where you are at.

Re: Nightforce high speed vs non high speed

The 10 MOA turrets are most advantageous is you're using a BORS system. Otherwise, it's been almost 2 years since Nightforce went to the Hi-Speed adjustments and the 10 MOA turrets will be a little harder to find. I highly doubt you'll find a brand new 10 MOA full size NXS on someones shelf.

You'll find an advantage with the Hi-Speed turrets if you have to dial a lot of adjustment to make a shot. With the more ballistically efficient loads it's less of an issue, but if you have to add say 40 MOA in elevation, that's 2 vs 4 turns.
