My rifle came in this past week. I ended up getting a Savage Model 10FCP-SR.....Now for my dilemma. I have up to $650 to spend on a scope and rings. The rifle came with a 20 MOA mount so all I need is a scope and rings. I have considered a Vortex Viper HS, Bushnell Elite, Millet, etc....I'm stumped. I wish I could afford a real nice Leupold Mark 4 but that's not even remotely close to my price range. I do want a variable power scope....I have looked at the SWFA scopes also, but I don't want the fixed power version and the variable power are out of my range. I prefer a mil-dot type reticle. Thanks for your help/opinions....

The listed scope would fit your purpose perfectly. If you want a scope to shoot to 1000 yards, then you need something that is going to track reliably, or it's just going to be a waste of time a money lobbing lead into space without any way of telling where it's tracking. You have the ease of a mil/mil platform, front focal plane (so you can read, and hold adjustments at any power range), and it's a 3-15, so you can use it with many different applications. There's other scopes that can fulfill your requirements, but at that price, I don't think there's a better deal.

Midway has a better description of it, and at 100MOA or roughly 28 mils you won't have any problems making hits at 1000 yards or further.

Look at the Vortex viper PST... i dont own one but if i didnt want to spend nightforce money thats what i would have.

Well, I got banned alright. Kind of chicken shit if you ask me. Guilty guilty guilty without any communication from the moderators. Did they check the PM I sent to the OP? (At least he was greatfull for the tip)
Did they contact me? No... just found I could not log in for a week (but I have been in Shanghai for the last two weeks so not that big a deal).
I did not post a link as I wanted to get my order in first and the OP was not looking for the same scope as I so not competition. Now I have placed my order and they sent email that its out of stock, probably 6-8 weeks. At least I am #2 on the waiting list. I ordered the Viper PST FFP mil/mil 6-24x50 for $865 delivered with their 9% off coupon. The website is optic zone.com. I looked before I ordered and they seemed to have good feedback as a seller.
