Will Armalite sue the Big-10 for using the word 10

Re: Will Armalite sue the Big-10 for using the word 10

That's not the way it works. You can trademark a name in reference to a product i.e. rifles. That trademark would not apply to a completely different industry/product.

Re: Will Armalite sue the Big-10 for using the word 10

But any use of the letters 'A' and 'R' together, constitute copyright infringement right?

Here's a simple and compliant way to get around it: "A-re you going to A-rkansas on the 1-0th of November?"

Shouldn't be a problem to live with this A-rrangement.

Wow, Get over it already. If you want to cry to mommy, go start your own company, design a product and patent the name.

If not...let it die. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk about it. If you don't understand the rules, don't involve yourself with them.

What? The first thread wasn't enough for you? You felt like it needed a spin off and you figured you were the big man to make us all see the light?

Given some of the things that I've seen patent examiners accept, I'd say that the answer is "yes".

I believe that the rules have changed from "first to invent" to "first to file", so you'd better hurry and get your provisional in place before someone beats you to it.

I was just playing. I have an AR-10. A real one! An Armalite Damnit! And no one has more fun than I do damning those who commit the act of apostasy by calling their lesser .308 semi-auto-A-R types (Not really, sorry), an AR-10!

There should be a Fatwa or something don't you think?

Did you not read any of the last thread about all this Q?

You can use "AR-10", "AR", or "10" as long as it doesn't apply to a rifle, and as long as it's not trademarked by another company in relation to another product.

Add: Nevermind Q... I responded before reading through to see your last comment.

Communist? If that were the case then no one would be allowed patents.

Depends - will this replace any of the miscellaneous topics in which you currently dwell (shooting from positions other than prone, primer pocket "uniforming", etc.), or will this simply be an addition to the list?

Maybe we'll have to switch to base nine math, too, since they got dibs ...

... hell, even Budweiser ain't safe at this rate.
