stopped by at new LGS today. they have a PPS 40 in stock, but id rather have the 9, which they can have by friday.

what are your experiences with it? i liked it alot. the ruger LC9 trigger sucked, the beretta nano trigger sucked. i have the XDs 45 (love the trigger), but i would like a 9 as well. the shields are just impossible to come by.

so, how does the PPS rank? i liked the trigger, nice and crisp. the only thing i am skeptical about is the goofy ass mag release.

please let me know your thoughts.

thanks.

I carried the PPS 9MM for four years. It shot well and was very reliable. I would not hesitate to own one. Well, that was until I got my Shield

I like the pistol.
Easy to shoot, very accurate. No FTE/FTF issues.

One pro on the Mag release is that it is "locked in" when inside the holster.

Extra mags are a rip.

I love my PPS .40. The mag release is something you come to appreciate, very secure and intuitive. Never had any reliability issues at all.

As stated above, the big cons are the price for extra magazines and additionally hi-vis sights.

Other than that, a fantastic piece for CCW.

Re: Walther PPS 9mm...Hmmmm....

thanks for the replys guys.

my issue with the XDs 45 is you HAVE to have a FIRM grip for it to work properly. from my research, this is because it is a large caliber in a small ass little gun. i never had a problem with limp wristing on the XDs, but it is VERY easy to replicate. so, here is my issue and why i would like a 9...

lets say i am taking my boy for a walk and a dog breaks thru a fence and comes charging (this is why i started carrying in the first place) and i protect my boy by putting myself in between him and the dog and i use my right arm to "block" the dog. now, i get bitten, i dont have full strength, and cannot FIRMLY grip my XDs, which requires a firm grip. the first round will go bang, but it will FTF the next round (again, ver easy to do).

is this the case with a small 9mm as well, such as the PPS?
