Gunsmithing mcree chasiss compatabiliy question

I'm wanting to start a new build. Here is the deal. I'm wanting to run two rifles in the same platform. One will be a 308 in a mcree. I currently have a custom built on an fn spr action that has been made to accept cdi bottom metal. Will this still bolt right up to a mcree. The other will be getting built. It will be a 300 wsm or a300 win. Can I run a wsm out of a L/A and feed it from AI long action mags or should I just go with a 300 win. Or can I maximize a 300 wsm out of a S/A and then I would be a ble to drop a 260 barreled action later if I wanted. My question really is what is the best mag to feed the wsm from in the mcree chassis. You see what I'm gettin at one big rifle one medium rifle both from the.same type of platform.

Did I put this in the wrong section. I figured the.gunsmith crowd would be the most knowledgeable on this. Anybody got any help on this

You are asking several questions...

1. Will FN modded fit in McRee and feed....not sure contact Scott at McRee. He is great to work with.
2. Will 300 WSM feed from long AI mag: Yes, no issues.
3. Is 300 WSM optimized in a shot action... can't answer for you, may get more discussion in the reloading or ballistics threads.
4. Should you go with a 300 WSM or 300WM.. Depends on you end goals and what you really want to do with the stock in the future...Answer the WSM question based on effectiveness in a Short Action v. Long Action and you will likely answer this question.
