Rifle Scopes 44mm vs 58mm objective on USO SN-3

I am wanting a USO SN-3 3.8-22 ERGO and the only option I can't decide on if the objective size. Can I get your opinion on the pros vs cons for the two sizes? The obvious to me is the 44 will sit lower on the rifle, but the 58 will gather more light. More to it than that?

I would prefer a 44mm objective on a standard sporter stock with no significant cheek height. Almost any 50mm seems to high for me and I have to run a stock pack to get correct.

With an adjustable cheek piece or if you already have a stock that runs a stock pack or the like...I would personally take the 58mm for the reasons you mentioned.

The rifle is sitting in a McRee stock, so lots of adjustability.

I recall several forumites discussing this in another thread, & the one thing which stands out in my mind is that a 35mm tube was HIGHLY recommended if you go with a 58mm objective. Partially for what you gain in room for the internals, and also for added scope toughness of course. Plus just plain old proportionality.

It's a 30mm tube. I couldn't afford a 35mm tube. In hindsight however, the 35mm tube does look much better. Better proportions. The 30mm tube is a little frail for that big 58mm objective.

Why not a 5-25 TPAL? They only come with a 58mm Objective.
I heard they are going to discontinue the 3.8-22x.... Maybe you should call USO and ask them what they think. Becky and Dave Roberts are always helpful

After reading up on the ERGO vs TPAL thing, I decided the ERGO would be my preference.
