My gunsmith just gave me a holler to let me know my opengun was done and that it is fixing to ship here are two pics he sent for eye candy.

That is awesome.. I shoot factory guns for the time being, but would love to shoot an open gun just once.. They are just so incredibly fast.. Im super jealous right now.

First off, the gun is beautiful. Second, I have a question and no disrespect meant in any way. Why the choice for such a large dot dight when there are smaller alternatives that could be mounted cleaner directly to the slide?

I've had several different types of slide mounted reddots on openguns to my 22 steel gun and though the are lower than a traditional C-more mounted reddots they have all the same thing in common at least for me and that is they have failed or quit working but I have never had a C-more go bad.plus with the 90 degree mount it is as low as you can get a Dot.I can shoot with either one and have but will stick with the c-more.I've used tasco propoints, aim points and C-more all frame mounted then switched to a tasco
optima slide mounted then to the Burris fast fire slide mounted

Thanks for the reply. I have no experience with pistol mounted red dots except on .22's. I would guess on a pistol build that is purely a game gun size of the sight hanging off the side doesn't matter anyway. Enjoy it....it looks fast.

    Caliber 38 super
    8.4grs of 3N37
    OAL 1.253
    MTG 124 fmj

gave me a powerfactor of right at 170
here are a couple of the groups shot at 20yds.Both groups are 5 shots
