Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

Street price would have to be 40-50% off MSRP, and the claimed BCs would have to be correct for me to ever consider these. That's just me...

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

The old accubonds are one of the worse bullets I've ever encountered/wasted money on. There are too known good bullets out there for me to risk spending time/money developing for a new accubond.

I have to agree with this, I never could get them to group reliably.

I almost got rid of a rifle because these were the first bullets I tried in it. I gave it a shot with SMKs and found it to be a very nice shooting rifle. I was excited at the idea of the original Accubonds because they seemed to combine the benefits of the ballistic tips and the partitions, making for a great deer sized game bullet.

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

I don't know how people get off saying Accubonds are a bad bullet. Like everything, they have their place.
I'll buy these in a second! They are one bad dude!
First thing I see is that past Accubonds are a hunting bullet.
Proof is in the freezer. Deer,Elk and bore. Ranges from 30 to 320yards I can vouch for.
If I can get my hands on some of the 175gr 7mm, I'm gonna load them up for my LR SAUM and take it to Africa this spring.
Not only that, I'll run them in matches out to the 1k line.
The Bergers are great LR paper punching, but I don't trust them on game yet. Accubond puts the hammer down!
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

I also can't get over the few people who trash on the AB bullets because they wouldn't shoot out of THIER rifle. I don't think its the bullets fault if a few rifles don't shoot them well. I have had no problems getting both the 225, & 250 AB to shoot 1/2 moa, or better, to 500yd in my 338WM. And they do put the hammer down on critters. My freezer is also full of AB killed game.

Bigwheels, as I've said in the past, your reading comprehension sucks. Obviously it's not a universal statement and obviously it only applies to our rifles (did you figure that one out all by yourself?). Which is why the 3-4 of us who didn't like them said: <span style="color: #FF0000">"I've"</span> or <span style="color: #FF0000">"I"</span> (see below). Nether of us made a blanket statement saying they were a bad bullet, just that they didn't work for us. See the difference? We didn't "trash" the bullet but thanks for trying to put words in our mouths...

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

Nice try HB. But 1st. I can't recall ever having a discussion with you before now, so if you've been trashing my reading comprehension you had no reason to be.
Second. I'm pretty sure that a lot of others with good reading comprehension took your comments the same way I did. Perhapse if you don't want to start a pi$$ing match with someone you don't know you should rephrase your posts to include something like (in my rifle)...

Shit, you're right. The idiot I was thinking of was 'BigWheeler' so my apologies to you, but that doesn't change the fact that you misunderstood the point several of us made and tried to put words in several of our mouths. Nowhere in the posts made by 3-4 people who didn't like these bullets did we "trash" the bullet and you saying that we did means either your reading comprehension sucks or you're willing to put words in our mouths in an attempted straw man attack.

As to your second point about having to state the obvious "in my rifle" when referring the experiences that we've had, if we have to start that than we're fucked. That's the dumbest shit I've heard since Bigwheeler was spewing his bullshit. Of course it was in my rifle, which again is why I said "I've" & "I" who elses would it have been in?

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

Not going to argue with someone like you. You said they were the worst bullets you ever wasted money on. That is trashing the bullet if you ask me, & most likely a lot of others.
The others were actually comparing a hunting bullet to a smk. That's apples to oranges.
So I remain convinced that if you didn't want to trash talk the bullet you should have rephrased your post.

Please do.

Any be careful with your pro-nouns because you don't want to be interpreted as sexist or racist.

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

Well I see you obviously don't comprehend the english language very well. So I'll make it simple for you. Had I posted that the (insert truck brand here) truck was the worst truck I had ever wasted my money on, that would not be trash talking the truck? If thats the way you understand the english language, then you should go back to elementery school. Or, better yet, whatever meds you've been out of, you need to double your dosage, & STFU. I didn't single you out.You started this pi$$ing match. I'm ending it.
I'll give the new ones a try if/when there is a 250gr in .338 to try. I have had nothing but good results with the AB bullet.

This just boils down to a difference in what we respectively consider "trashing".

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

I never compared the two, just said that I did a double check to make sure it was not the rifle. I also simply said that the AB did not work in that rifle(.300 WSM), but I verified that the rifle was a shooter by loading up something else since the AB was the first bullet I tried in it. They also did not work well in my .280, but it shoots sub MOA with Nosler Partitions (Hunting bullet v. hunting bullet / apple to apple). I hunt almost exclusively with Nosler bullets, so I am far from a Nosler basher. I am glad the AB works well for some others, but I will certainly continue to relay my experiences on things, even if my experiences are contrary to what someone else likes. No pissing match, simply the truth.

Supposedly March 2013, but I'm sure that is subject to change.

Re: Accubond Long Range---PRICING

I'll will be watching for them and plan to test the BC of the 6.5, if its close and reports on the rest are as well I may be building a 7mm-08 sooner than I planned.

Remember guys, different guns are going to like differant bullets, my 308Norma mag (light custom sporter) shoots 180 accubonds in the .2s
