BSA Sweet 22 scope

Re: BSA Sweet 22 scope

I can only speak for my experience with my old one and it was a very good scope for the $25 new I paid for it. Held zero on 2 different guns (one bolt and one semi auto) and was very durable as well. It has bad reviews in here mostly but take that with a grain of salt because most people in here think you have to have a SS or wherever you have isn't good enough.
BTW what power are you thinking about?

Re: BSA Sweet 22 scope

i scored one cheap and its on my 10/22 and ive never had an issue with it. its the 4-16 i think, its not the 3-9. ive used BSA on an air rifle and spotted some fungus in the lens. i didnt have a box or warranty card and had never registered it. $15 and they send me a brand new model airgun scope.

Re: BSA Sweet 22 scope

Had one on my marlin bolt action .22 for almost 2 years. It was good enough but it ended up not keeping zero. I shot somewhere around 1000 to 1500 shots with it so I figure it was worth the 30 bucks it cost me. I was going to buy a second one but ended up swapping glass on my 308. I threw my SS 10 power on the .22 and love it so I have no need to buy another one now. I would never put it on my semi auto though due to the fact I shoot 250 shots out of it every time I have it out. I imagine it is like a lot of cheaper optics out there, some people get ones that are fantastic and some people get lemons.

Re: BSA Sweet 22 scope

I tried to use their 4-16x40 MD IR. Wish I'd listened to my friends that had already told me that BSA makes crap. Scope would not repeat adjustments, poor clarity on higher magnification, and would shift zero from one range trip to another...dramatically. I did like the reticle though and now my brother is using it on his .22 and limiting himself to using mil-dot hold overs.

Seems to be holding zero ok now that we aren't cranking on the turrets. It might do what you ask of it, but I wouldn't set my expectations too high.

At the price point, I think Tasco Varmint/Target series scopes will serve you much better. 2.5-10x42 and 6-24x40/42/44mm options available including some IR offerings.

Saw the basic 2.5-10x42mm on amazon for like $75, irrc.

I confess I'm pretty disgusted with BSA, so take it for what it's worth.

Re: BSA Sweet 22 scope

I havd one of the older models and like others have said not the best. It does not seen to hold zero. But for the money it is a decent scope for plinking but i would not use it for hunting
