Anybody else having issues staying logged in to the hide? For the last 2 days I've been having issues logging in, and staying logged in. I would think its my computer, but my cell phone and wifes cell phone do the same thing. Any solutions?

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

    Ya,

they did a patch this afternoon for an issue and I am having the same problem. This is definitely a UBB Issue, and I will contact them and see what happened.

There was a security update and as soon as they finished I started noticing it too

The other software is being installed and hopefully the new forum will be ready soon so we can dump UBB, I hope before XMAS

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

Thanks Frank for letting me know it may not be my computer this time

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

    I will let them know...

It was the update to how they handled the Cookies and apparently the fix was worse than the problem, if there was one.

Like I said they are working on the new updated forum, I am hoping the move fixes a lot of the Server / UBB issues.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

I'm getting booted every time I navigate away from the hide and then come back. It must be a cookie issue:

'Keep_me_logged_in.checkbox = disabled' something to that effect. It should be an easy fix.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

I let them know it usually takes a few hours for the UBB people to respond, he will put that part of the update back to normal.

Like I said, we are moving off of UBB in the very near future... hopefully that fixes a lot of these compatibility problems.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

It has stopped kicking me off. I'm all good to go now, except the hide is running realllllly slow... Every other site is running fine speeds, but I trust this is another issue caused by switching over

    Same here.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

Me, too; and between having to log back in every time I rejoin the site (four times in just this past hour...), and getting hung for minutes at a time when changing pages, it's getting kinda annoying. I just upgraded to a new machine with the latest software, and it runs like crap when I'm logged onto The 'Hide. This is not cool, Frank.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

I have already mentioned, a dozen times if I mentioned once...

The site is getting a complete makeover... a $10,000 upgrade ! What more do you want.

UBB Did this, UBB issued a security patch and shit all over the way they are handling the cookies for the site. Nothing I can do but bring them back in to remove it.

As far as the server, we are not on 6 servers, I doubled my cost this month, but part of it seems to be how UBB Is being handled with the increase in traffic. We move 4.5TB of data a month, with that the handling of the information is being crushed because of the constant hack attempts. You can get the speed back, but then security goes out the window. We have to block the hack attempts which puts a cramp on the flow.

I am moving software this month, UBB is gone, the problems, the lack of support, all of it... gone but moving this much data takes time, we can't just flick a switch.

The people are hired, the work is moving forward, now how about giving me a fucking break ?

I get it, I don't like, I spend more time damaging controlling shit than actually contributing. The solutions are moving forward.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

yup, same problem happening here, and thanks for the progress. I too now know that it isn't something that I'd done on my end.

Had me thinking that I'd forgotten my password there for a minute.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

On the server side we believe we found the error in the UBB updates, and fixed them.

Please post on this thread if you have the problem again.

Just out of curiousity, who's hacking? Are we talking the Anonymous/Antisec "just because" type groups? Pissed off banned members?

Well if you lived any closer I'd buy you a beer. I spend so much freaking time on this site and have learned so much. Now you are getting me a Christmas gift by making it better... Sure we have tiny issues but I would not change this site or stop coming cause of the hiccups.

Lowlight thank you very much for the hard work you put into this site and making it the place that it is.

Hack attempts have come from China, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Italy, as well as I am sure some banned pissed off people have tried ramping up DDoS attacks on the site.

After you logged in successfully - how long was it approx before you got logged out?

Also when you logged in - did you check the checkbox - "Remember me on each visit." ?

EDIT: Also have you flushed your Browser Cache since Friday's changes? and/or if using Firefox delete you existing cookies?

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

I seem to be having zero issues right now, but earlier today I attempted to log in, and each time it went back to snipershide.com/forum and showed me being NOT logged in.

Again, not having issues at the moment, I was logged in when I opened the browser this time....Just passing it along.

What web browser? and what OS?

Also have you cleared your cookies since Friday?

Internet Explorer and Windows 7. I'll try deleting the cookies and see if that works.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

IE has had a long history of conflicting with UBB, there has never really been a fix for this.

Try adding the site to your "trusted sites" as it's an incompatibility with the security of UBB and Windows.

If you use Chrome or FireFox it usually fixes the problem.

    Re: Trouble staying logged in

Just tried everything I could in my work computer. Unfortunately, I can't install Chrome or Firefox and I can't add this site to my trusted sites list since I need admin right to do so.

The only way around it is to log in, then go to my messages, log in again and then I can surf the forum without it logging me off.

I had to do the same thing to stay logged in.

:) Not very likely you have Internet Explorer on your iPad.

You can certainly grab something like Google Chrome for your iPad which if you are having problems with 1 web browser on your Pad would allow you to try using a different web browser.
