I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with the Pierce Actions, particularly the titanium action that they offer. I am planning a new build and am very interested in that action. So if you own one or have experience with one please let me know what you think. Also what do you think about benchmark barrels. I am planning a .308 short barrel build. I have not heard much about either one of these companies and wanted some info. If you have other companies with good actions in titanium please let me know. Thanks

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

I believe Mark @ Accurate Ordnance built one up for his personnel rifle for the 2012 Mammoth Sniper Challenge Challenge in Kentucky. It was a heck of a fine rifle and the action was as smooth as glass.

Give Mark a Call and he should be able to talk your ear off about them.

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

I have been running a Pierce multi-flat action for the last few years as my primary match rifle, its seen a lot of action and has functioned flawlessly. All smithing and barrel work was done by John, it may be the most accurate rifle I have owned. The acion is extremely well designed, tight tolerances but very smooth, the diamond bolt fluting gets some comments as well.

Thanks guys! I already have a stock. Its a manners t2 90% carbon with the Minnie chassis. Now I am just trying to figure out the action and barrel. I want to keep this gun as light a practical because it's main use will be for hunting deer put to no more than 400 yards or so but I will also be shooting some competitions with it as well. That is why I am e xtremely interested in the titanium action.

I building a Pierce SA around the 7WSM. It's not the 'tactical' variety Pierce offers now, but 'precision matches' is primarily what I do with it. I've got a couple thousand rounds through it. No complaints with the one I have and would love to have one of the Ti actions.

It shoots better than I can.

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

I dont know but I think they may be doing away with the titanium stuff because of the machining side of it. I have used John stuff for a long time and its very good. I just started to use Benchmark barrels also and they are showing excellent results. Call and ask for Jim he will answer all your questions.

Was just up at the shop 2 weeks ago and heard no mention of doing away with the Ti actions.

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

i actually have had a titanium action on order from them for several months. a few weeks ago when i checked on delivery they said the run of actions were at the edm and should be done in a few weeks. nows would be a good time to check on one. very nice to deal with.

John definitely knows what it takes to build a precision/accurate action and rifle!

He just doesn't shoot so well

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

I've been running my Pierce action/build in my Eliseo tube gun stock for about 2 years, super slick setup! Both companies are great to deal with! Great products! My daughter has been running her Pierce action/build for about a year & also loves it.

I plan to get more of them.

Re: Thoughts on Pierce Engineering Actions

Looks like I will be letting Pierce build a Ti action and build the rest of my gun. I have heard nothing but good things about them so it doesn't seem like I can go wrong with them. Anyone have any experience with thirty suppressors? I will also be needing one of those so if anyone knows a good suppressor let me know. I want one that is as short, light, and quite as possible. Lol
