Help with 300 Win Mag

Re: Help with 300 Win Mag

Pick up some Reloader 22 and some 180grain TSXs- if you can find some

.
I also use Winchester brass as well as federal magnum match primers. A reloading manual will come in handy.

Why the 180?? And why mimick when you can just buy em?? Win brass , 71.8 to 72.5 r22 and a 210 Berger is what I'd be packing.... But hornady does make very good ammo

Also look to the IMR4831. I had good showings at from 71.7-72.3gr with federal premium brass, CCI250 and the 180gr interbond. Seated .010 of lands shot best but .005 also performed well. Was slightly over 3000fps 26" barrel.

Not sure how much the interbond and sst will be will differ with loading but Hornady lists them both at the .480 BC and .271 sectional density.

I don't load them in my 300 WM, but I do in my 270 Win. The Hornady 150 Gr SST&IBs shoot the same. If loaded the same, they hit the same with the same velocity. I use the SSTs for playing (they are cheaper) and the InterBonds for hunting.

No sight changes. I would think the 308s (300 WM) would act the same way.
