I am considering the Crossfire II in 6-18 for use on an upcoming 6.5 Creedmoor , either Savage or Browning.
Any opinions or data on this scope?
Budget is a high consideration, but could double the price if this one isn't worth it.
Thx to all.

I understand what it is like to be tight on money, but you should probably look elsewhere than with this scope. I have one on my .22 and for that it works pretty good... tracking when adjusting the turrets is average, and it has not lost its zero for over 2 years now. Again though, it is on a .22...don't know how well it would do in the long run with the 6.5 JMHO

Vortex makes a good scope, but...

Spend the money or save a few more weeks and get a better scope.

A used PST, HS or Viper will serve you much better at 6.5 creed ranges.

Also the Vipers and above have a lifetime, no BS, warranty.

Re: Vortex Crossfire II- any good?

The local shop I moonlight at has sold sold quite a few of the Crossfire IIs. I worked one day last week...and received three of them back as defective., In one day. All three had the crosshairs sitting 45 degrees off upright.

Re: Vortex Crossfire II- any good?

I own thirteen pieces of Vortex optic equipment and only one is a Crossfire(which I procured on closeout for less the $100 and resides on a 22LR). They are Chinese made and are Vortex's budget line of scopes. Step up to the Viper line of scopes if possible. The above link to Cameraland NY has the 6.5-20x44 VPlex wide reticle model for $279 shipped. I have four of that model and feel they are an extremely good value at that price.

Its amazing that the scope has not lost zero for over 2 years, since its a scope that was released 1 year ago.

You have a crossfire, not a crossfire 2. They are completly diffrent scopes. The crossfire left alot to be desired. The crossfire 2 is the best scope on the market in its price range.

Re: Vortex Crossfire II- any good?

I have a crossfire II 6-18X44 AO sitting on an EBR platform and it has been nothing but good to me. Tracks well, maintains zero and functions my glass is clear and my shots are as accurate as can be. It could use a better shooter behind it..

ALL Vortex products carry the lifetime, no BS warranty. Regardless of where they are in the lineup.
