I'm getting my 338 RUM together and the 338 lapua mag I was going to use for my 338 RUM rounds shows a max internal length of around 3.622". I don't have any 300 grain bullets in yet. Am I going to be able to shoot the 300 gr Berger / SMK / Scenar? Or are they just too long and I need to shoot the 250s?

The project is a switchbarrel 7RM and 338RUM on a Defiance 911 action in a Mcree stock.

thanks

I've shot many 300SMK out of my 338RUM/McRee setup. You probably won't be able to utilize the berger, but the SMK will do just fine.

Thats exactly what I wanted to know, thanks.

I guess the 300smk it is. Hope the rifle likes them.
