Tight closing bolt

I recently shot some 1x fired Lapua brass , FL resized by me and my forster die. Chambering some of these rounds , I noticed the bolt was a little snug to close. The bullet has alot of jump so its not jamming.
Should I make a small die adjustment ?

Once fired in your rifle? If so, then appears like you need to bump the shoulder back a bit. However to be precise, you should get a headspace measuring tool from Hornady, Sinclair, RCBS, etc.

sounds like a headspace problem as stated above. Bump the shoulder a see if that helps. Measuring the headspace will tell you how much to bump.

Just as a check - does the bolt close easily on an empty chamber?

If so, how hot are the loads you're using?

These loads were pretty mlld
41 - 42.8 grains varget under 175 smk

+1 on headspace measurement tool.

I recently picked up a Sinclair shoulder measuring tool and love it. Takes all the guesswork out.

Mine does the same thing on about 1/4 of my brass. I never worried about it.

Sounds to me like you need to bump the shoulder back a hair more.

Having things snug, isn't always a problem.

What is ideal ?

It's barely noticeable , and only on about 1/4 of the brass as well
