    When I send out a block of email, you know over 25,000, I always get such great replies from people.

    My first of the afternoon
    <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Fuck you! I tried to get on you're web site and ask about a nite scope I got booted after the first question. You fuckn idiots are the reason we have Liberals!</div></div>

    To which I replied:
    <span style="font-style: italic">
    Careful

    That is how you get high blood pressure ... </span>

    My next favorite:

    <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Take me off your fucking mailing list you banned me idiot.</div></div>

    My reply to that was not as polite but relevant to the question

    <span style="font-style: italic">Take your self off,

    Unsubscribe... at the bottom.

    You banned you, we simply enforce the rules you agreed too.
    </span>

    Oh, and the week is young.

    I remember the first time I saw that Frank had sent me an email. I thought,"Hmmm looks like Frank has been admiring my posts, may be a dinner invite forthcoming." Then I opened the email and it was just bulk email everyone gets. Well to say the least I was crushed. I thought about sending him a scathing reply, deriding his character for toying with my emotions. I thought better of it all. Good thing, I could have ended up here, with the rawest of my emotions stripped down for all to see.<snicker>

    Running a website...... $36,000 a year.

    Sending out 25,000 e-mails..... Pennies on the dollar.

    Receiving criticism from people who don’t think enough of themselves to make something of themselves.....

    Priceless!

    Hey Frank,

    Has anyone told you THANKS for keeping this place here for us to hang out all the time? If not, then THANKS. I know I'm not on here as much as I used to be. But I really do enjoy it MOST of the time when I can get here.

    Having been a moderator for a while I also want to say thanks to the mods. It's sometimes difficult and hard work trying to keep everything running smooth and the idiots at bay. Thanks to the mods also.

    Thanks.

    Their education level. If you don't know how to use a proxy server or dynamic IP, you pretty much won't be able to hide from a ban here. I'm pretty sure this forum software still will automatically lock any duplicate accounts created on the same IP.

    hmm so not totally foolproof but enough to put a large roadblock in the way to make them rethink things. with most home ISP's at least around me, you can just unplug your modem and get a new IP in about 30 minutes.

    Another thing to keep in mind is that even though this site is privately owned, it IS open to the public. Meaning you don't even need to be registered here to view the site. Pretty much the exact reason why I hate seeing the term "banned" because there's no such thing as bans on the internet. I mean this isn't 15th century Europe where you get banished from a village by an angry mob with pitchforks and torches. This is 21st century internet.

    "Banned" is short for "Banned from posting" not from coming to the site.

    Right, but when you go to a different computer, you can view the site.

    You were probably still logged into your locked account. A quick cookie deletion would have fixed that.

    The problem is Bill that some people here don't know how to not try and make shit personal and even going so far as to fuck with others at their job or fuck with that persons family. It's pathetic that those same people can't choose to simply ignore someone. I gladly tell everyone my first name, and if I consider you a friend or someone I like you can have my last. But if I think you're a douche nozzle then why should I bother giving you anything else other than a "fuck off" so as to not leave my personal life open to threats from basement mall ninjas or worse. Example... Papa Fox, or Raven6 something... Moron talks about coming up North like he's tough. As much as I'd like to greet him with my foot so far up his ass that he choked on my heel I know it won't serve any purpose except to get me in more legal trouble. So, as a result it's first name only and if some fucktard wants to start shit then he can cyber stalk and find me in a public venue and I'll deal with it then. But I choose to leave my wife, friends, and family out of it and out of harms way from the mentally challenged that still have access to firearms.

    Bill,
    I somewhat agree on using ones name, it would keep things more cival.
    But posting of a gun purchase, or what you have for guns, would be stupid. All someone has to do is look up Bill Larson, S. Belloit, IN and find out where you live. In this day and age it's just not wise. I realize you're proud of who you are, we all are, but..... the day I got banned, it would have still happened!!

    Didn't even see that side of the coin, but definitely a great point milo...

    Absolutely agree. When people can hide behind a compute with an alias and be a tough guy that talks shit all the time they deserve to be banned.

    I was talking about the part involving others tracking your posts/sales involving firearms and the risk of being burglarized. I don't really know Bill to comment on him personally...

    Why? Exactly what are they hurting other than your feelings? And usually it's a 2-way street...
