Wanting to get a scope for my 243, but I want to stay under 250. I am going to shoot targets from 50-400 yds but mainly 100 yd and 300yd. I have a mueller apt on my 17hm2 and I absolutely live it. So would a 8x33 mueller fit my needs, and be a dependable repeatable scope for a beginner?

I have one on my.308 good scope for the money. I have shot out 859 yard with on steel,, it is all it wanted , ran out of turns but I did hit steel at 850

I've read that they're a decent scope for the money, but they have limited adjustment for elevation- only 40 moa total, which means you'll have less than 20 minutes of "up"....

That will be fine for the ranges you're shooting (up to 400) especially with a flat-shooting caliber like the .243.

If you haven't already bought a base, I'd get a 20 moa down-angle base in case you get an opportunity to stretch it's legs further.

If you bought a 20 moa base would you be able to zero fine at 100 yds i have an apt 4.5-14 and just ordered a t3 lite 223 and a egw 20moa rail and am hoping this anwser is yes

Why were you supprised? Typcally the more zoom you have (espicially in cheaper scopes) the less room there is for travel
