I've done searches, but can't seem to find many reviews for this specific scope.

I've got a custom .260 Rem built on a 700 action and Manners T stock. Have a Swaro Z5 3.5-18 on it right now but want to get a scope that is better suited to long range shooting, taking precision rifle classes, etc.

I want an MOA system and have heard people like the MOAR reticle.

Any thoughts on whether this is a good way to go would be appreciated. Not a small chunk of change, want to make sure I'm buying right.

Also, what mounting system, rings would you recommend? Most of my shooting will be inside 600 yds, but would like the setup to support 1k.

Thanks

I just picked up one this week for my DTA SRS .338...havnt had a chance to get it to the range yet, but looking through it happy so far

I found a lot of information on the scope when I was selecting a scope for my last build. In general, it gets great reports.

One thing I would say, though, is the thickness of the reticle was a bit surprising to me. I've been using much finer ones in my past. May take some getting used to. Otherwise, its clear and shows promise.

Thanks for the info. Read your review.

Just saw (a bit late) that S&B now has an MOA reticle.

Going to see what I can learn about that, although at 1600 more, not sure how much better it can be?

The SB reticle is a p4f in moa. We've got some in stock I believe. Glass is better IMHO.

Split the difference and take a look at the new Nightforce ATACR. The ATACR has ED glass.

I referenced this in my earlier post. However, I have to add the MOAR is my preferred even at long ranges for what I'm doing. If I was pinning paper from a bench, I would opt for the NPR1; if I'm hammering steel or game at random ranges with less than ideal conditions.. MOAR fits the bill.

Have shot a full size IDPA target at 2K yards plus with no problems with the reticle being too thick. If the it came if FFP in 22x or the new 25x it would be almost perfect all around.

Re: NightForce 5.5-22x56 w/MOAR and ZS

Anybody have the new ATACR, is it really midway between the NXS and the S&B?

90% plus of my shooting will be inside 600 yds, I will also use as a long range hunting scope from time to time. MOAR is probably fine for me.

Not any places where I can compare the scopes close to me, wish I had done some looking at SCI.

Re: NightForce 5.5-22x56 w/MOAR and ZS

I have the MOAR reticle on an NXS 8-32X56 ZS and HST mounted on my new AIAW 308 folder. I've only out 80 rounds thru it so still breaking it in. But with the MOAR reticle my last 5 5 shoot groups averaged 0.31". With 3 of the groups about 0.25" the other 2 had 4 shots in the same size range with 1 flyer in each that opened the groups up somewhat. So I don't find the thickness of the MOAR a problem. I used to be a NP-R1 guy but now my favorite is the MOAR reticle.
