7.7 jap

I've had this arisaka for 40+ years been hesitant to load fairly hot round
in it and actually use it ,its a safe queen but hav always wondered if I could take it out in the field ,been shooting light loads at targets but hate to see it Jus sitting there its a 7.7 jap would it be worth loading proper semi hot loads to use ,or should I just leave it in the safe, its in immaculate condition ,any suggestions

I guess it depends on what you mean by "hot", but the Arisaka has one of the strongest actions ever made. What are the loads you're currently running?

Well I ordered a box of 150 gr norma bullets. My brother loaded them a little light, don't remember how much powder, seemed to work beautifully, Jus wondering if I could go full power, on this load w/o damaging the barrell or bolt ,

Any load up to max from any reputable manual, ie: Lyman, Hornady, Speer, Sierra, should be safe in your rifle. AG

Just be careful as a lot were re-chambered to different calibers if it has been around after the war doing who knows what...

When handloading ANY firearm, you work up to the max load. DON"T just jump to the max.

I've got one my dad shipped back (blood stains and all) from Okinawa after they retook the islands. Fired it many times using Norma factory fodder, shoots nicely. Very strong action.
