Interesting that Magpul announces that LEO/mil can get 10 mags directly from them (for work) and they get a standing ovation, but Armalite says the same thing (LEOs- but not their agencies- can still buy our products for work) and they are the devil. And, George Gardener of GA Precision confirmed that they sold a rifle to Sacrament CA (http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/showthread.php?t=174752&p=2342300&viewfull=1#post2342300) and no one is raising a stink...

I have never been a fan of Armalite. Their CS sucks. I took advantage of the current panic buying to get my money back out of the only two Armalite products I had. Will never buy another. As far as Magpul is concerned, I'm not happy with their stand either. I could see sending some orders to fellas over seas but not here. There are alot of people taking advantage and jumping in front of the line making people who backordered wait even longer. I too could take advantage but won't.
As a Law Enforcement Officer...I can honestly say I stand by the manufacturers who are boycotting these communist states. I almost purchased an Armalite AR-10 and I am frankly glad the deal fell through. The only way these states will learn, is if everyone is held to the same standard. I will never buy or look at another Armalite Product again.
I think its comical people are making a big deal of this. Yeah it'd be great if all firearms companies boycotted those states, but it ain't gonna happen. Colt, FN, H&K, Glock, will never stop selling to any gov its legal to, and would likely happily hand over any info they have about owners, but no one is denouncing them, in fact I've noticed no decline at all in people waving their banners.

If this is true... Armalite better get LOTS of sales from NY, cuz they just lost alot of sales to "the folks."

I dont have a problem with what Magpul did. Letting individual LEO's order their products as opposed to selling to the Department of, agency of the state govt. To me, thats supporting the troops but telling the communist administration that supports the policy to go pound sand. Mags and accessories are one thing but firearms are altogether different. Therefore, I do have a problem with Armalite not supporting the RKBA efforts of those in the anti-gun states. I think in the future, I too will not consider Armalite products as on option.
I think a major manufacturer boycott of these anti-gun states would would crush the communist movement in a hurry. The first thing that democrats shout from the rooftops when they want to spend more money is that public safety will suffer if we don't increase our spending. We'll if law enforcement cant get the basic tools they need because no one will sell to them, then public safety WILL be effected. And when the sheep start to question why, the democrats will have some uncomfortable explaining to do.

I agree with this, why do some get black balled while others get a pass! In my opinion, some companies say they support our rights yet will make a business decision to make money not supporting us and others do support us and take hit in money. Companies and citizens can take a stand for our rights or not. If every firearm related company stood firm and said a resounding no to any sales to those states, either civilian, LE or govt, we would not this problem. Imagine if Glock, H&K, Sig said no sales to Cali, Illi NY period to include LE or govt if you restrict your average citizen rights.
Sorry to hear this about GAP and this has soured my future bizz with them, in the market for gasser 308 this year, currently saving up the coin. Companies can do what they do for sales but so can I when I purchase.
I believe We The People spend more $$$$$ with these Manufactures than all the Agencies, I don't have anything to back that up but the number of gun owners outnumber LEO and military.
If the civilian buyers don't support these companies who don't support us they will eventually fade away.

We can't even get everyone on a gun board to agree that Armalitedid anything wrong. Never mind get them to agree to a state boycott.
We can't even get most people to agree we need to boycott Hollyweird for their viotriolic anti gun rhetoric - while making billions off violence with guns.
When it means self sacrifice, its a hard sell, these days...

My point was that you don't see any "Can't believe Glock, Colt, H+K, FN" threads so why the focus on Armalite? I like to think you understood that, but I have been wrong before.
The misinformation and wrong conclusions GAP posted in this forum about suppressing gas guns is reason enuf not to buy from them. Political issues aside.
I don't get "offended." Its an axiom of mine... the use of profanity is indicative of not having much to say, but wanting to say it loudly. Which really means nothing at all, other than one narrow slice of how people may be perceiving your ability to communicate. Ignore that, or think about it. I don't really care. Mentioning it is a public service I perform.
In fact, people have in this thread pointed out how Glock / H&K etc sell us guns, AND sell us out. Its pure buisness for them. That's common knowledge. That Armalite is ALSO doing it IS newsworthy. It is to me, anyway, cuz I wasn't aware of it. I like keeping track of what companies sell us out, so I can NOT do business with them.
Thus, the whole point of this thread is same as what you said....if you don't like it, don't buy from them. Thus you were wrong about people not pointing out Glock / Colt / HK, you actually agree with the overall point of the thread, and you threw around a bunch of F-bombs to say nothing particularly helpful

ArmaLite Clarifies Ban State Sales Policy
In the last week ArmaLite has been asked whether we would refuse to sell firearms to New York State in reaction to the legislature’s surprise passage of the most restrictive firearm regulations in the country. Some think that we intend to continue sales of our firearms to the governments of New York and other states that restrict their citizens from owning similar arms. This is not true.
I have owned ArmaLite for almost two decades. During the first half of that time citizens were subjected to a ban that restricted ownership of legally made firearms and magazines. It was during this time that I initiated a policy that ArmaLite would not sell to a state government that denied ownership of our firearms to the honorable citizens of that State. This statement is still in force today.
In addition, we similarly embargo shipments to local governments that propose or do the same.
When I was a police officer I was required to purchase my own firearms. The same is true of many officers today. It appears that the majority of our rifles used by police officers were purchased by the officers themselves. I will not abandon them because of the actions of their State legislators. We’ve seen that rank and file Officers overwhelmingly support our position. And many County Sheriffs and Department Chiefs have declared that they will not enforce a law they see as unconstitutional. I will support them to the extent allowed by law.
My efforts to secure our Second Amendment rights extend far beyond this policy to active defense of our industry and rights. I have been strongly involved in Illinois gun ownership legislative efforts. For the past five years I have attended Arms Trade Treaty and International Small Arms Control Standard (ISACS) sessions at the United nations in New York and Geneva, Switzerland. For many of these sessions I have been the sole industry representative present. The point is that ArmaLite is strongly committed to our Second Amendment rights, and that my policy to support friendly police officers and agencies is not in conflict with my principles.
Today, some of our friends in the industry and the public wish ArmaLite to simply refuse to ship any firearms into States that don’t allow their citizens to own the same arms. For some it’s become a simple litmus test. But that position really doesn’t do justice to the Officers and other officials who are on our side.
I thank those of you who understand our principle of refusing to sell to agencies that support violating our Second Amendment rights while supporting the rank and file who publicly support us all. May we all unite together and fight to protect every law-abiding citizen’s right to own a firearm in America.

I for one give my hat to companies that have boycotted states and will go to them to buy first. A right is a right not a need.
What about all the officers that aren't on our side, and ESPECIALLY the "brass" that is making these policies?
Seems Armalite wants to LOOK like they won't sell to anti-2nd states, while still selling to anti-2nd states. Which is weenie. Westrom appears to try to make it look like not selling to anti-2nd states is to put the officers in jeopardy. Which is weenie - it is the legislatures and "brass" that have put the officers in jeopardy, not companies that refuse to sell to NY.
WHich is fine. Its his company. And I can choose to take my business elsewhere.
