Changes in the For Sale Section

Please do not send us Moderator alerts regarding the For Sale section.

If you look the section no longer says anything about 100 posts. You cannot read a person's post count and determine what their post count is.

We all lost posts, however prior to the system indexing if you were logged on it recognized your "Full Member" status. This is what controls your access to the for sale section.

Full members or better are the only one who can post in the normal for sale section. I have the permissions set so when you reach 100 posts, yes you become a full member, but there are many who are grandfathered due to changes.

If you cannot post, you don't have FULL MEMBER Status. If you can, you are fine regardless of what you post count says.

If you want to sell and you don't have full membership you can use the "New Member For Sale" forum for a fee. This way we can give those who want the opportunity to sell the ability without people trying to rack up a post count.

This board has much more robust features so we can adjust and limit things. The fee is $20 for 21 days access to post an item for sale. You have full access during those 21 days so use them wisely but please read the rules of the section.

    But again,

Do not send moderator alerts because you see low post count, ignore post counts, I have modified the headings as such.

    LL,
I see you have installed a type of feedback system for people in the for sale ads. I was messing with it and it looks like anyone can post feedback, as there is no record of transactions.
What's to stop a person from flaming someone because they don't like his price, or him for that matter.

In some ways, yes, but in others, no, it is not our job to mediate between parties, if you got to the point of a negative rating, more than likely there could have been something done to avoid

If the guy is just being a dick and had no experience with you, then I can see us removing it.

But honestly I am not here to manage your ratings --- that is your job by doing what you said you would do. Having a smooth transaction is not rocket science

Of course, I was just curious as to how the "rating" thing worked. So to clarify, how is the rating of a user generated? not only by mod input but are there any other ways a persons rating is affected? such as by another user?

Frank, I have 100 posts but it isn't showing me as a Full Member nor allowing me to post in the For Sale Forums. Please advise. Thanks!

Probably because you just padded your post count by having 20 posts today..... Nice work and in clear violation of the rules. I'm not the forum police, but hate seeing people bump threads with posts that add absolutely nothing so they can have 100 to sell their crap. Best of luck with your sale.....

If I was able to sell before the site migration, what has happened now? I was surprised to see I could not sell something when I had done it in the past as well as purchase from other members. I also noticed the post count was a lot lower ( yes I do understand that many posts were lost) but I am over the 100 hump and have been a member for a while. Is there anything else I need to do to get full member status?
    Thanks for clarifying.
