I did a search but couldnt find any new info on this round from Berger, last year it was talked about on the threads as in development? Can anyone point me to a link or thread on the new Berger 7mm 195 gr Hybrid . Or its status? Last i heard it was in development? Any new news appreciated.
Thanks

Eric Stecker has been giving a few updates here and there over on Longrangehunting, and the last update stated that due to the drastic increase in demand for their bullets lately, the 195gr project had to be put on the back burner in order to try to keep up with the demand of the currently offered bullets.

my 7x47 lapua needs this ammo. bryan give me my magic ammo ......
the whole point of a 7x47 lapua was to use the 195s and still fit a mag...
ps to anyone thats interested theres is a wild cat guy who is in the process of making a 200gr 7mm

You are going to shoot the 195 Berger in a 7x47 Lapua case? I doubt you are going to see full potential, hell a 162 amax is pushing it for that case.

I have a 7mm Dakota. I had PTG make me a reamer throated for 180gr VLD's (.015" jump off the lands) and I have shot the Matrix 190gr VLD's but they do not have a high enough advantage over the 180's to be worth the additional cost. They feed great out of the AI 338 Mag's with plenty of room to seat out for 195's.

A guy at my local range showed up a few months ago with a 7x47 improved, and testing 168 gr 180 gr Berger on a remington platform with ai mags. loaded mags had some room to spare. Getting on average less than 1 inch group @ 300 yards . I've been obsessed ever since i can't think of a better round to rechamber my trg 22, the mags will work without seating the bullet so deep more room for powder. ballistics similar to 7-08 with a longer heavier bullet that fits mags win win win
and 195 would make it ideal if i can find the sweet spot.
260 Ackley Improved is nice but can't use the heavy bullets with a mag, 7x47 Improved just looks sexy and works.

How fast was your friend shooting the 180s? And I thought I read a thread a while back of people having problems with the 47 Lapua case in the TRG platform?

I don't know that was the first time i met the guy and haven't seen him since i'm trying to catch him at the range and the range master doesn't know the guy but like i said he was printing less than 1 moa most of the time @ 300 yard so i just can't get over it ... i haven't heard of any problems with feeding the lapua brass.
