CCI primers with black colored tray holders??

I've been reloading for a couple years now and I've been using CCI primers non-stop. The plastic trays that hold the primers in the little paper boxes have always been white. Well, I was lucky enough to purchase some cci small rifle primers #400 at a gun show lately and the primer tray holder was black?? Did they just switch the color of the tray lately?? Have any of you seen black or other colored primer tray holders other than white for the CCI brand? Or maybe they are taking any color they can get to keep up with demand? The actual primers look good in comparison to other #400 cci primers I already have in stock. Just want to make sure I'm not getting suckered @ the gun show. First time I've ever seen black trays in comparison to white trays.

That's odd! Maybe? I've got a new brick of small rifles at the house I haven't touched yet. I've noticed they change the font and such. Ill check when I get home and post back.

Well, I just got done going thru about 10 bricks of primers (all different types rifle and pistol)...... ALL of them have white tray holders, BUT one of my large rifle #200 that I purchased about 2 weeks ago was actually black!!! WTF. This brick was actually purchased from scheels so I know it is good. Hmmmm, really strange. They must be doing it to keep up with demand I'm guessing. So maybe I'm not smoking crack. Anyone else run into this yet?

Ahhhh. Yeah misread. My large rifle are the old style boxes. I don't have any of the new "scary black" boxes.

you never know @ these gun shows. Just want to make sure you're getting what you paid for. I just thought it was strange having black colored trays in comparison to the typical white color trays.

I just checked and I have some LR #200's in the black tray. I got them right before the shtf. So I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Black plastic does not show little specs of contamination like white does. For a non load bearing application like trays the specs are of no consequence. Bottom line.....black plastic is cheaper then white.

My cci 500 lrp are black trays I haven't opened my cci400 srp yet

Primers stored in black trays probably won't burn as hot as those in white trays; you may need to swap 'em. ??

I just received an order of 5k 400s and 5k 200s The 400s were black trays and the 200s were white trays. The cci small rifle (400s) are the hardest to obtain.
