A few months ago a member by the name of "elfster1234" came up with a homemade for an LMT SOPMOD but it ended up not working very well. I decided to try it myself and made a couple changes that I think will help make it work. Here's what you need:
3/8" turnbuckle (it needs to be solid in the middle, not hollow)
3/8" U-Bolt
3/8" nut
3/8" nylon locking nut
3/8" die

I started off by cutting the top 6mm of rubber off of the inner tube valve with a straight razor so it would fit in the turnbuckle. I then filled the bottom of the turnbuckle with JB Weld and put the inner tube valve in there and let it sit for 24 hours. I put the U-Bolt in the vise and cut the top of it with a hacksaw so that it had enough room for the two nuts and the space in between the nuts where it goes through the stock...I'm not sure of the exact measurement. I then used a 3/8" die to thread the non-threaded part of the U-Bolt as far as it would go. I then screwed the regular nut onto the U-Bolt all the way to the bottom of the threads and put loctite in it. I put the U-Bolt through the QD socket on the stock so the nut was touching the stock and screwed the nylon locking nut onto the other side. All that was left to do after that was screw the turnbuckle onto the other end of the U-Bolt.
I forgot to take pictures of each step of the process so hopefully you can still understand how to do it. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to help. I'm going to the ranch this weekend so I'll be able to test it out then. Hopefully it'll work! Here's a few pictures of the finished product.
