Hey guy's I will be traveling from Atlanta to Texas, to do a little fishing on lake Fork Thursday. I am always game for checking out new gun shops. Are there any you guys recommend? Especially if they stock nice optics.

Wish I could help you for a shop in that area...just not too familiar with N. Texas shops. Wills Point- yea, you'll have to take a drive as you're in East Texas...not much there.

A quick search I found the following that had good reviews
Bachman Pawn and Gun - I've dealt with them directly when I used to work gun shows, easy to deal with, plenty of merchandise and very knowledgeable
The Gun Sight
Bullet Trap
B&S Guns
Gunmaster- in Plano
DFW gun range

I live near most of these and B and S bullet Trap and gunmaster don't stock quality optics. If you are looking for some nice guns to take a look at I recommend Gun Gear to Go in Plano right off 75 and Parker, but if you are looking for some good optics there is not really any store close to the metroplex that I have found to stock anything worth while.

What are you looking for? High end stuff and best overall selection is Ray's in west Dallas, Bullet Trap has been pretty picked over lately, and Bachman doesn't keep many rifles in stock. Gun Gear to Go doesn't generally have much interesting except for the KSG, if that's your thing. ($2000 LOL).

Thanks for all the info guys. We spent so much time fishing on Fork I never had time to go to any gun shops. we caught 4 over 7 with the biggest being 10.5. I work in the Plano area on a regular basis. I will definitely swing by Gun Gear to Go.
