I can't seem to find. 1/8 twist .260 Remington DPMS pattern AR barrel in stock anywhere. (20-22", bull profile, threaded 5/8x24). What are the pros/cons of a 1/9 twist? I'm looking to shoot projectiles to stay hyper sonic to 1,000 yards.
The 1 and 9 will shoot the lighter bullets Better. Shooting hypersonic should not be an issue for a 260. The pros would be will shoot a hair flatter typically but the cons will be the lighter bullets will be more affected by wind. Im sure someone more knowledgeable could help you a little more though, hope that somewhat helps you
Lilja will have them back in stock soon. I have his 1074 profile in .260 and it's a lazer beam. 20" 1:8t SS. If you plan on shooting the 140's then go with 1:8.

My view on twist and bullet weight is that it is a safety net for bullet manufactureres. Sometimes heavy bullets shoot fine in moderate twist rifles, sometimes they don't. Buying a tight twist is just insurance.
Can be hard to find for some calibers, I did a good bit of searching to find someone to build me a 1-8 for my 7RM Project that is packed up and ready to go to CDI for inletting and DBM.
I actually found a 24" Lilja 1/8 twist in stock at Precision Firearms. (I believe he has more in stock if anyone is looking). I should have it on Monday. I'll be shooting 139-142 grain bullets over 4350 powder
