I was thinking of upgrading my Mark IV to a S&B, but after looking around I found the Light Tactical 3-15. I had my heart set on a S&B, but for the price difference I'm leaning toward the PR. I don't need an Illuminated retictle, and this seems to have the features I want. Are these scopes as durable as a Leupold or S&B? How does the glass quality stack up? I think I'm leaning towards the Gen 2 XR reticle; Is that a good choice?
Does anyone know if SWFA offers discounts to hide members?

Got, from SWFA but used a trade on a Leupold MK 4 so not sure on the discount. I have not owned a S&B so I have no basis of knowledge to back a statement of comparison so that I will leave alone. What I can say is I own NF, Leupold, USO and SWFA SS and it is as durable, or more so then any of them. Glass is exceptional, the Gen 2 XR reticle is good to go and the thing it a tank. Mine is the illuminated, and although not a point of consideration for you, useable and very good. It is a very well made all around scope and do not be fooled by the "light" in front of tactical, this is a true tactical scope.

Great scope, I had exactly that setup (Gen 2 XR, non-illum, LT3-15) and just sold it - simply because I have too many scopes on a shelf.
Glass is significantly better than the Lupy, as is durability. Be aware that the Gen 2 XR is very small at 3X, it works fine as a precise aiming point, but the reticle subtentions are far too small to use.

Nice scope, you will like it.

I don't know if SWFA offers discounts to Hide members, but the do have a low price guarantee (with some fine print.)

Sir, I'd try hard to compare firsthand the Gen II XR to the Gen II Mildot in the 3-15 before ya drop $2K+ on a LT. I found the Gen II MD to be more useable throughout the 3-15's power range. Have the XR in my 5-25x, but Gen II MD in both 3-15s.
Glass is outstanding. Side by side with two different Swaros, one a z6 3-18x50, and the LT actually looked more clear and crisp, edge to edge, with more vivid color rendition. Of course, that is subjective, but the Swaro owners agreed as well.
Been beating & banging my Premiers around for a couple years and they all hold zero just fine...
Good luck in your decision and if possible, try before ya buy!

I have one and its great piece of equipment. Very durable, don't worry about the "Light" in LT. Reticle choice is a personal thing and the recommendation from Knockemdown on trying the XR vs the Mildot is a good one (maybe one of the Hide vendors will ship you both scopes to try out, with the thinking you will buy the one you like better?). I have the XR and its fine, although it it not as good as the XR in the 5-25x (its absolutely excellent there). Beyond that, I bet you will love the LT in every way.

LiteTac on my .22-243, doing some farm maintenance this weekend...
