I am in the middle of a 260 build and I just bought a 308 tactical nib. Have any of you guys sold take off barrels lately I figured with the market the way it is some one could use this. That said its just a rem factory barrel, so is there any value to them? Every other build I have done the barrel was shot out. Thanks for the help?

The Classic stocked rifle has a takeoff barrel that Arnold Arms did for me about 20yrs ago, when I got it back it looked like it had never been fired, costs me 65 bucks and it is very accurate, the rifle used to be a Varmint Special. Yeah, gunsmiths will tell you takeoff barrels are worth nothing, but I think this was the best 65 bucks I ever spent.
Takeoffs are still great barrels. If anyone is interested I have a 223 sporter sitting here that needs a new home 
Thanks guys ... Looks like it will be a bit before I'm ready I just played with the tactical and if I lift the bolt and just touch it it snaps back down and decocks? If I slide the bolt at all it works fine but I am not all that ok with this problem. My other xmarks do not do this.
Sporter weights are worth about $40-$60. Heavier barrels $60-$90. Savage barrels get a little more because of their ease of changing.
