My first 6.5x47 from Beanland

My BeanLand 47L shoots 42-42.2grns mid to high .3s(130VLDs)pretty well, and that's with a lil #3 Broughton!!!! Looking really good running 140 HYBRIDS with N550 as well!!!!!! Looks like I'll have him build me a 7WSM, 300WSM or a .308 next Lord willing!!!!! That BeanLand Guy builds some good stuff! OAN great looking rifle you have here Sir!!!!!!

Well I finally got to shoot it through my chrono and it was accurate but slow so I have went up to 37.5 gr. It is shooting about 2850fps with a 24 inch barrel and it shoots sweeet. Here is the last 3 shot group of the day at 100 yards.

Most all of the 6.5x47's that Jon builds will shoot great with 37-37.5 gr of Varget and 130's. I have one be built me with a 25" Bartlien and it shoots 37.5gr and 130 VLD's right at 2,880fps. It will shoot the 123 Amaxs very well also with 38gr of Varget right at 2,910fps.

Yep, 130 VLD's with 37.5 grains of Varget in an 8.5 Krieger gets me 2890 fps.
You won't find a better guy than Jon to build a rifle.

Wrapping paper for targets???

Great idea!!!!

Going to have to steal that one.....

Gorgeous rifle BTW!

It is not wrapping paper it is peel and stick shelf paper. I am able to use the same cardboard many times. I cut a 28"X36" piece of cardboard and put 20 1" dots on it and when I have shot groups at all the dots I just put another layer of shelf paper on it. The only reason there is a blue ink circle in the picture is that I wanted a smaller dot but did not have any at the time.
