Well, I've read a thing or two here over the years and decided it's time to jump in.
I've been pretty addicted to ARs for the last 5 or so years. Spend a lot of time on ARFCOM. I've done a bit of 3 gun shooting at Blackwater (or what ever they call themselves now).

I've had a Rem 700 308 VSSF for about a decade now, haven't shot it to much in recent years. I do know it can get 3/4 moa with the right handloads. I've honestly never shot it past 200yrds, although I've shot my ARs out to about 400.
I've always wanted to get into shooting long range, but in south east VA there aren't any places to shoot far with out a long drive. My range only goes to 100yds. C2 is about 90 min from me and that goes out to 300. Looking to take a class sometime later in the year.

I just put a 5-20x50 SWFA SS on with a Seekins 20 MOA base and Vortex (Seekins) rings. Glass looks great. Most expensive one I've bought yet. My 20" AR has a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 which I've been very happy with.

I decided I'm going to jump in on the Long Rifle accurizing group buy. I think I'm going to be switching over to a 260 Rem. Going to have to get rid of some of the 308 components I'm sitting on and restock. I've got a ton of LC 308 brass I'll convert to 260.
I'm actually trying to find just a SS receiver right now. Seems silly to cannibalize the rifle I have since I'm thinking about changing the stock and everything.

Check the pawn shops for a parts rifle, or you can get a SS receiver back ordered from Brownells. They come through there pretty regularly. Great scope and setup you have already though, they definitely shoot!

Welcome to The Hide!

Hey man, welcome to the hide. I think I recognize your screen name from other sites. I think you work with my wife tickling neutrons, right. I built a couple of Stiller TAC30's in 308 AX chassis you are welcome to check out. I've got a place we can shoot out to 600 over on the back side of town shoot me a PM.
