what is the longest reliable feeding. or as a general rule how much clearance from tip to inside mag wall.

measured my max length and I am longer than mag.

As long as they're not scraping the front of the mag, then you're good to go. In my 338LM mags, that's right at about 3.730".

I get very reliable feeding at .025 inside my inside-mag length.
