As stated, I would like lead time to be relatively short, I could supply the parts it has to be dead accurate!

Mark Gordon from short action customs builds a rock solid ar, he used the 6.5 gr for a while too.
Lead time is tough for most AR builders right now.
Would be worth your while to talk to Scott at Specialized Dynamics.
Only AR upper I've seen George from GAP pick up off a prize table has been an SD, and that spoke volumes when I saw it.

If you're supplying the parts, you might also consider reputable builders with little or no Grendel experience. A Grendel AR build is still an AR build.
Your barrel will be a major factor regarding accuracy potential.

Issue with grendels are, you need to make sure the receiver is true, Grendels can brake bolt lugs if out of alignment, the lug near the extractor can fail

not saying that he doesnt build them, just that he isnt right now with everything going on. and specialized dynamics gave me a 10 month wait! I think im going to try a guy named Matt Salm, anyone heard of him, Greg Young referred him to me so im guessing he's pretty good.
There are a few things to consider with the Grendel regarding parts selection that aren't issues with 5.56/.223, namely barrel extensions. Get a quality extension with uniform diameter between the teeth, as the exractor on these larger rim cases requires more room to snap over the rim. There are cheap extensions out there that warp slightly after the heat treat, which can cause binding on the extractor.
I was just noticing this on a Satern barreled Grendel the other day. There is clearly metal-on-metal scoring on the outside of the extractor. In the chambering stage of the cycle of operation, this can lead to weird FTFeed malfs you normally would never see, especially since the cartridge is aligned with the bore at that point.
As long as you use a great barrel with higher-end steel quality and tight bore uniformity, and a barrel extension fit to the upper that is tight or bedded, with parts that are true, it will have great accuracy potential. A lot of tricks from the Service Rifle crowd will help the Grendel, like bedding the gas block wit Loc-tite, and bedding the extension with Blue Loc-tite.
For reliability, I like to chamfer the edge of the ejector so it doesn't have a chance to bind the case rim as it feeds up into the bolt face.

Please do tell us more about these Service Rifle tricks! I've seen the bedding the extension trick, and am considering doing that with my MATEN barrel. I'd like to know what else can be done to improve the AR platform.

That Rob Whitley article is a great one. There's also an excellent thread here on the Hide by a guy who specializes in AR15's and AR10's for competitive shooting, where he goes step-by-step into explaining what he does to a tricked gun, with photographs for every operation. He covers bolt carrier mods, bolt lapping to the extension after truing the face, ejector mods, chamber work, gas system set-up, bedding the upper to the lower, etc. It's an excellent series of posts from him. Don't recall his screen name, but I think it was in the gunsmithing section.
See if you can find a rifle smith that actually does the machine work (contouring and chambering) on the barrel himself. There are many that buy parts made by someone else and just put them together, just as you could a lot cheaper.
I was thinking about buying an Upper from precision firearms, I feel like I could get those parts and find some one to make it for me for cheaper! I just cant find a 6.5mm AR bull barrel
