.264 lbc

Nobody knows anything about these barrels? I can't find anything but mixed info stating maybe they be satern? It's an 18" fluted stainless chambered in .264 lbc with a stag barrel extension 1:8 twist and says Loki weapon systems on the chamber. I'm hoping it is in fact a satern!!!

Not that it matters a lot but just to keep the facts straight.
Arne who owned CSS was shooting a 6.5CSS before Alexander started messing with the Grendel. The guys at Lothar Walther USA introduced Bill A and Arne. Arne, Bill and Lothar worked together on things. Bill A trademarked the "Grendel" name.
les Baer entered the picture much later, around 6 years later and the 264 LBC name was born.
There really aren't that many companies making the 264 LBC barrels. Lothar could have done them no doubt. Black Hole or Satern could have also.

There was a guy who kept posting about them all the time as if he were a company rep, but denied any such relationship. I'm trying to remember what barrels he said they were using, but I don't ever remember him saying Satern.

I have a 24X bore scope and I can't tell the difference in button or cut barrels if they are lapped. An Unlapped button is easy to spot.
If the barrel cost less than $400 it's not a cut rifled barrel. Krieger, Bartlein, Rock and Satern all charge $300+ for a cut blank alone.
Most will charge $120-200 to finish a blank.
The guy he was talking about was JPWilson. He said they had started using McGowen button rifled barrels. Try a google search Loki barrels, all kinds of stuff came up.

IIRC, the primary differences between the 6.5 Grendel and 264 LBC are:
1. 264 LBC neck is .005 tighter than the Grendel.
2. The 6.5 Grendel uses compound angles in the throat, rather than the standard throat cut.
I would shoot factory 6.5 CSS, 264 LBC, 6.5 Grendel in any rifle chambered for either one. Although I guess if someone used a collet die to make up handloads, they could potentially make up ammo based on a Grendel neck (.005 larger) with thick necks that might be problematic in a chamber with a .005 smaller neck diameter.

I know what lbc means and I also know about all the differences in the chambers. Lbc stands for the clambering not the manufacture of the barrel. That's what I meant by "what does that mean"
I think that most shooters on this board who have looked into these cartridges know the chamber/throat differences. My posting was intended for those who aren't as familiar with the subtle differences.
