My new Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50 Rapid Z Varmint finally arrived today. It's very compact for a 50 objective, but it's a bit on the heavy side. This has replaced my old Conquest 4.5-14x44 Z Plex. I've only just mounted it but so far, I can tell that the image is brighter on the HD5, but that's likely due to the larger objective. The picture remains bright and clear throughout its magnification range. The eye-box is easy to get behind, and is fairly forgiving at 25x.

I'll post some pictures and report on the tracking performance when I have a chance to go to the range.

Here's a few pictures I just took of a building approximately 130M from me.

I also have the 3-15 version and like it very much. I don't think the glass is excellent in mine but it is good and it tracks and repeats perfectly so far. You will enjoy the new scope.

how much different b/w HD glass and non HD?

They're very close. The clarity is about the same, with the HD being slightly better. The biggest difference I saw was the HD is brighter. But then it's not a fair comparison as the non HD is a 44 and the HD is a 50 obj.
