They make do with what they have...

In Libya, half the population I guess now owns brand new G36 rifles. Was the damndest thing, seeing them walk out with those on the news like it was Christmas.

Is that AK in the video a Tabuk? Or like one? What'd he say they did to it?

This should be linked to the how to evade a sniper thread where a bunch of guys say dumb shit like, don't do anything wrong and you will never need to find out yada yada. Ya never know....

"They only use IEDs as a last resort, for means of escape." I don't believe this. I know everyone is trying to paint them as saintly revolutionaries, but the simple fact is that, ever since Algeria's war for independence, use of bombs (a.k.a., IEDs) has been a staple tactic. Yes, they will likely kill just as many civilians as one's true enemies (hence denying that they use them as a primary weapon), but, then again, the anarchy created by that indiscriminate killing can only be good for the insurgents: it discredits the regime as the sole provider of impunity. I simply cannot believe that they refuse to use a tactic that simply works.

I also thought it interesting that the sniper in the black robes and cap said he was fighting Assad because he's an American "double agent." Quote; "Today we are talking about Israel and America. He is no different from them. He is a double agent for Israel and America."

AHAHAHA!! Every country has their conspiracy theory nutjobs. I've heard enough Americans say the flip side of this about you-know-who.

Rory Stewart, the British deputy governor of al-Amara in 2004, wrote in his book that he received a group of Iraqis that gave him a manifesto and list of grievances. One of their complaints was that the Coalition troops were part of a Jewish conspiracy to steal Iraq's "red mercury," and they wanted it back. What is "red mercury," you ask? Exactly ;) Conspiracy theories are funny things.
