Is it too late to backorder a Beast and expect to get it this year? If not what vendor has the best chance of getting it?

I'd be glad to put you on our call list. I'm not taking any deposits because I don't want to sit on people's money and then have them call me every week wanting an update. But I'll be glad to call you when things start flowing. Is it too late to backorder a Beast and expect to get it this year? If not what vendor has the best chance of getting it?

I have two that I ordered back in Jan/Feb. I only plan on keeping one. They have the H59 reticle. I would be willing to part with one when they come in if anyone is interested.
I love Nightforce, but man they really need to get on the ball and build some scopes. The concept of waiting for a freaking scope for a year is beyond me.

They build them to order and there is no sense in hiring a bunch of people to meet demand of one scope just to fire them 6 months later once demand is met. Are you new to this industry? That is quite an asinine statement.
Yep fucking brand new, only been shooting for 37 years.
People buy what they can get, Nightforce will lose sales to companies that put stock on dealers shelves. I am retired mil, I can buy a Zeiss or Leupold 34/35mm scope for wholesale any day I want via their programs. Why would I get sores in my ass pining for the first over 30mm scope Nightforce has ever made, when 3 or 4 other folks have been doing it for years.
I love Nightforce, but this Aussie-American half cocked program they have leaves a lot to be desired.
Tuesday night I finally saw a ATACR Mil scope on a buddy of mines 22LR Walther. He helped Nightforce get on our local 1000 yard range, and they sold him a prodeal for something like half off. It's a beautiful scope and even shooting at almost 11pm it was clear and bright. But any scope with a $3000 plus price tag is going to be, and 99% of them are setting on dealers shelves without the wait.
No sense? Country X calls Nightforce and says "well take 300 Beast scopes, with delivery in 2 months", and you are telling me they shouldn't hire assemblers they have to fire. I guess you don't like money.
The problem is that shortfalls like this produce an increase in competition. Look at what Manners has done to McMillan, and even Manners is behind. Someone else will step in with a superior product that has the ability to get shit out the door. Surgeon is another example, and other machine shops like Defiance have stepped up and said "no problem, shipping tomorrow".
A piece of unobtanianum in a box might as well a piece of shit in a box with a guarantee on it. What happens when you wait a year for a scope, and then they send you a bad one? How happy are you going to be then?
What is assinine is people like you who accept this kind of behavior from a company. The world of guns has never been as fucked up as it is right now, and acceptance is part of the problem.

Back ordered... That's why S&B got my money, not to mention the 10Y parallax and H-59.
Are you sure retired military can get the Leupold discount? It says active duty on their website.I am retired mil, I can buy a Zeiss or Leupold 34/35mm scope for wholesale any day I want via their programs.
It's always been hurry up and wait for most quality products-S&B, USO, DTA SRS A1, MRAD conversions, suppressors and the battle for scarce ammo. The popularity of this sport has really expanded in recent years just aggravating these issues!
I hope it all falls as planned too. As far as issues go Nightforce is well known for having a reliable product. That is one of the main reasons I chose to go with them. With the Beast they appear to have top tier glass, some interesting bells and whistles, and I hope legendary Nightforce reliability.NF has taken money without the "BEAST" ever being on the shelf and I hope for everyone's sake who has given their hard earned money that it is available when they say without issues.

Opinions like this crack me up. If synthetic stocks and rifle scopes were such easy items to make to McM/ Manners Nightforce/ S & B quality, how come no other new companies have made the step? Maybe there are a lot more problems to simply ramping up production to meet demand than you know of. Facilities, qualified employees, even supplies are all very expensive and difficult to get within a few months to make a dent in a backlog. Do you think Nightforce can go to its glass supplier and say, "hey, we got a years worth of orders for the new beast/ atacr/ whatever, can you deliver us double or triple the glass in our normal time frame?" I don't think so. What happens when they buy a new facility to meet production and two years from now when sales take a dive they have an expensive property bill to make on a monthly basis? Or machine lease costs?
What exactly do you think customers are supposed to do if they won't accept a wait time? go buy a swfa scope?

Zeiss, Swarovski, Hendsolt, Burris, IOR, there are more options out there.
I think they do this bullshit on purpose. And man I'll tell you I love Nightforce, they make great products here in Australia people lose their minds over the company. Then again it's an Australian-American company owned by an Australian with (assembly plants) in Japan, Australia and the USA. BUT! they puposely increase the g-whiz factor on their stuff by limiting production.
Does anyone have news on when this scope is going to be released to the public? I wish a Nightforce rep would chime in and give an accurate date and insight to what the hold up is. I am tired of dreaming about this thing.
I even ordered the Tenebraex 56mm for the Beast in anticipation. If only there was a SPUHR available that would fit, I'm thinking possibly one of the mounts that'll work with the USO TPAL??
Great to hear! Hopefully, more of us will be blessed in the next 2-3 months. They are starting to trickle out to some that have connections. I shot with a good friend that has a Mil-R reticle Beast last weekend. Very nice scope. The elevation turret is huge, but you get used to it very quickly. They are probably the nicest scope out there.
