The hard to get parts are finally starting to show up for a couple of builds i have going on, so it's time to start thinking of Cerakote color options. My buddy just had one of his done in Burnt Bronze, and it is bad ass, but I'd rather not do the same thing if possible. What other colors are out there in earth type tones that people have on there sticks? Something maybe a little different? I can never get a good read on a color from the little paint samples on the website. I'm even open to a multicam or other camo pattern, I just havent seen much of those on a gas gun.

    Help me out! Thanks

Sniper Grey in .260... Looks even better in person.

I like it. I never thought of a mix. What did you go with to get that?

They call it Shadow Bronze. It's Burnt Bronze mixed with some Armor Black I believe to tone it down as the Burnt Bronze can be a bit bright.

People are mixing colors these days are concocting some pretty unique colors.

I really need to figure out how to post pictures.... I have a mega monolithic upper/lower 6.8 spc II cerakoted in foliage green that looks pretty good.... Definitely like it better than my wilson combat 5.56 in OD green. I also have a mega Maten monolithic upper/lower 308 in their limited run Nickle boron.... I'll say one thing... The Nickle boron is in another league for durability.

If you go to the cerakote website and click the individual colors, they show a few photos of guns painted with that color. Very helpful. You can also order samples.

Does anyone know if you can rattle can over the cerakote? I was thinking of doing plain FDE, with the option to add a temporary camo pattern on top.

I'm liking what I've seen so far, even that desert sand AK is awesome. El Gordo, love the mulitcam. Who did the work?
I was telling myself I would be bold and do something different, but I'm a puss and am thinking about the magpul FDE again. I like the looks of that, and I'd hate to get something back and not love it. I do like the black Titanium, but not a 100% in on it yet.

Keep the pics coming, change my mind. Thanks!

Thanks for the AK love brother! FDE is hard to shy away from, it really does work with most setups. In any case, whatever you choose will be great b/c it will be yours. Go for it, you'll love it any way it turns out!

After I squirted with Desert Sand, Coyote Tan, MagPul FDE and a darker custom brown.

ElGordo, that is awesome. I was wondering how cera would stick to the NP3 coating on my POF. How did you prep yours, is the NP3 coating under there or did you have it blasted? Don't want to remove the NP3. How is it holding up?

Since NP3 is Teflon based, I took no chances and blasted it off. It did take a bit of effort to do so though.

All in all this digital paint job was very time consuming but in the end turned out nice.

    Thanks everyone for the kudu's.

I like flat dark earth...sorta like dry mud. I finally went with ordering color chips as the colors shown between my computer, IPAD, and the TV screen (when I run the computer through it) would vary enough that they often looked like different colors. The color chips have been 100% accurate.

Thanks everyone for posting some awesome pics. Just when I start to think I have nice toys, I look here and get put in my place. I'm really liking the Tungsten, and Titanium colors. So I think I should will have one done in FDE and one in the Tungsten or Titanium.

    Thanks again.

WOW! Looks fantastic! I do my own cerakoting and I can say from experience that this must have taken some time but the end results are amazing. Very nice job!!!

I have done one digi camo on an M&P and I don't know how anyone can do this and make a decent profit off of it.
