I have been looking into either the Manners T5A or the T5 for my .260 build. My question is, do I need the adjustable cheek or not? I am running a USO SN3 with a 44mm objective, I am thinking that I should be able to run low rings, or possibly extra low rings with this setup. The barrel contour is a rem varmint. The advantage that I see with the non adjustable cheek is the weight savings 2.7lbs vs 4lbs. What do you guys think? T5A or T5... or something else altogether.

I had a sn-3 in badger low rings on a Remington with an HS precision stock and the factory comb worked fine. I did have to cut the front couple of sections off of the badger rail to clear the objective lens (ERGO) and flatten the last section of rail on the back of the rail to clear the eye piece.

I won't miss having to mangle my bases to get usos to fit. OP, if you don't EVER plan on running another scope on that rifle, then you can skip the hardware. Personally, I like having options but I can dig the weight savings too.

I went through the same process between T4 and T4A.

Advice was to get the adjustable. Better to have and not need versus need and not have.

And it is not a retrofit. You can retrofit the adjustable length of pull though.

I would say go for the adjustable. I don't think 1.3lbs is that much of a difference and it's better to have it than not need it than to need it and not have it. Also, I don't know if it would mean anything but all of the Manners folders have the adjustable cheek piece standard.

1.3lbs is not negligible when a stock pack can do the job for a few ounces. You can see by my sig I chose the adjustable but I wasn't concerned with weight for that one.

Very good point. I too chose the adjustable when I got my T4a and weight wasn't a concern either. But I suppose if the intent is for a hunting/lightweight build, then 1.3lbs could become a concern.
