Rifle Scopes Sighting Iin USO 10X

I have a used USO 10X scope I need to sight in.
I have watched the video on centering thr rect., I do not have a boresighter.
Can I center the rect, with a mirror like with other scopes?
It has the ERECK knob.

Why not just look down the bore at the target and then adjust the reticle to match the bore sighted location.

I guess my question is really about how to center the recticle.

if you center the reticle and the shot doesn't hit where you want, what's the use of a centered reticle?

You are over thinking it. Turning the knob and turning the center screw BOTH move the erector. You dont need a boresighter as mentioned. You can get it damn close without even taking a shot.
Turn the center screw All the Way Up/CCW. Turn the entire EREK knob All the Way Down/CW. Back the EREK off about 5-10 clicks.
Now look through your Bore at a target/object about 25yds away. Center the Bore on the target and without moving the rifle, Adjust the center screw Down/CW until the Reticle is centered on the Target. Adjust windage knob just like any other windage knob.
Now the Bore and the Reticle should be on target at 25yds. This should get you on Paper at 100yds.
