I asked the question on the forum several months ago to see what I could stir up. How well does the 338 can suppress a 6mm?
I got a lot of different opinions. Some said it won't be bad because of the extra volume of the suppressor. Others said it was going to be louder because of the exit dia of the bore.

Well I've got over 50 rounds through the can with the 6mm and I feel that it is both of what people told me. I think the suppression level is actually very good. It does have a slightly louder first round pop, but it isn't much louder then several other suppressor that I've shot with 30cal bore dia.

So all in all I'm very impressed with this suppressor on a round not ment for it. Next is to try the 338 through it. I'll give further impressions in a few weeks.

Anxious to hear about your results as I've got a .338 AAC Titan QD waiting on the feds. I'm going to use it on all my .30 cal stuff from .338 down to 6.8 SPC and .308.

If you've got an iPhone, they make a decibel meter app for it that might give you some hard data.

I should have gotten my .223 Surefire Socom556 can in 6.8 instead, but they didn't have one in stock so I just bought what they have. Looks like I'm going to use the Socom on my Walther P-22 as well, since I don't want to wait another year for a .22 can paperwork to go through.
