Best option to get a barreled action

I have a JAE 700 stock on the way. I want to get a high quality action mated to a 26" 5r barrel with a muzzle brake all cerakoted in black. Where would you go? Want to keep it under 1.5k if possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

I cant see where your located since your profile isn't filled out. Benchmark is definitely worth a look, the best part is they make their own barrels in house, and world class barrels. Costs and turn around times are very reasonable as well. I currently have 3 Benchmark worked rifles, a custom POF 6.5CM rifle and 338 Edge they built, and a Sako TRG they just rebarreled, all with Benchmark barrels of course. All work is top notch, and they build hammers.

Sorry, I just updated my profile. I live near Los Angeles but have no problem ordering something and having it shipped to my local FFL.

For Benchmark, would I purchase an action somewhere else and ship it to them so they can mate it to one of their barrels? Or do they make/sell actions?

Sorry for the newb questions, I am new to the custom world for bolt guns.

You can supply the action or they can order one for you, if they don't already have what you want. I have the benefit of living 5 minutes away from them and stop in and heckle them or just say hi, especially if they are working on something of mine. They are always a pleasure to talk to, really good bunch of guys that turn out some fantastic work that is wicked accurate.

Yerman, as a fellow Cali, I'd have it shipped to you first. That way you won't be screwed if your work takes until after the first of the years. With all the new nonsense coming thru, better to take legal possession now.
