The South Platte was higher than ever recorded and moving down now.
Tons of trash of all kinds and sewage and chemicals in the water.
Lots of the towns around Sterling, Atwood, Merino and others were spared the full brunt of the high water by the railroad grade acting as a dam, however, there is still a lot of damage and Sterling is on a limited water usage/no flush order.
Porta Pots all over the town.
The Red Cross and Salvation Army are set up as needed and following the crest.
My Old Lady and I will be working at the Salvation Army for the next few days.
They are really a stand up organization and I will make a sizable contribution to them as well as my labor.
I am impressed by them to say the least. Regards, FM

FM,

Blessings for you and your wife! In my younger days as a telecom lineman, I worked several storm jobs. As a result of my observation and personal interaction with disaster recovery organizations, the Salvation Army is where my money goes. SA is a stand-up organization and operation.

Y'all Stay Safe!

Thank you.
My place is away from the river and high and dry. I do however have friends that are not as lucky closer to the river. They will lose some crops.
The amount of trash coming along with the high water is hard to believe and there is a lost of bad shit in the water. Sewer systems were compromised or destroyed up stream and there are lots of logs, boards, pieces of walls and floors, you name it and if it floats it is coming by and hanging up wherever.
The city of Sterling's sewer system is down, that is causing havoc. No flushing or washing anything that goes down a drain so the local restaurants are all shut down.
Tempers are wearing thin.
Glad we are on a well and septic system. At least I can use my bathroom.
I have no idea how many towns don't have sewers now but that is sure not a good situation. FM

I have been out helping as best as I can today, the amount of trash coming down river is unbelievable.
It is fucking up the best efforts of our city people to restore sewer service. Debris getting their best efforts.
Thank God I live out of town and am only a volunteer.
My Squaw, bless her heart, is working with Salvation Army to feed them all. The lines get longer as this shit goes on.
She is putting in about 12-14 hours a day.
I was sent elsewhere as it is not proper to call people Ass Breath, can't you read Dickwad? and various other things.
So-- I spend my time working with the shit and trash that is flowing down the river.
I was and still am very impressed with the Salvation Army's effort.
Red Cross is housing about 12-14 people and Salvation Army is feednig 200+ at each meal, yet they don't even put out a bucket for contributions, which I found strange.
Any donations I have will be going to the Salvation Army. and it will be large.
I will say nothing bad about Red Cross other than to say that every cent I give will go to the SA as I know how they use those $

My parents live a couple miles away from that weed choked trickle of mud, just over the Nebraska border. They live about 100yds north of the railroad tracks, the water came up to the south side of the tracks. Blessed enough to stay dry so far.

Thoughts with you.
