Hey guys just figured I'd share my Sunday Funday with you guys. I went out and did a little positional shooting on "floaters" or moving targets at a local strip pit out to about 350 yards. Basically just toss a beer can in the water and give it 10 minutes and its near the end of the bend down there. Nothing to crazy, fun or exciting nevertheless a darn good time. Here are some pictures. Only one of me because that's probably not what y'all want to see haha. This was her first time shooting a bolt gun and shooting anything suppressed. She was more scared of my Glock 19 than she was to jump behind my bolt gun. Well here ya go! Next weekend hopefully will be lobbing some 175 smk's out to a mile for kicks and giggles.

No worries JMGlasgow.... A bullet definitely can and will skip off the water. However, I was the only one shooting at anything longer than 100 yards ~. When making these shots as I stated I'd throw a can in the water or whatever else was around that floated and I'd wait till it was in a position that even if the bullet did 'skip' off the water it would hit the rocks along the bank. There is also a natural back stop on the other side of the water so, either way we were covered. All the pistol shooting was shoot at a pretty good angle down to the water so didn't have to worry about ricochets there. When I let her shoot it was at stuff that was 50-100 yards away on the other side of the pit so basically a natural backstop. usually at just whatever we could pick out- small rocks, cans, and other random stuff.

Other than that, there really isn't much of anything out here in this area where the shooting happened. A couple cow pastures and some farm land is about it. There is a highway in the background but its about 2-3 miles away.

Its basically just an old pit. Its not really all that long or big. Its a place they used to mine for coal. The beer cans sink to the bottom after they are shot. There are lots of them out there. Lots of kids like to party out there and just leave them everywhere.
