I haven't really seen where this has been discussed before but it probably has. I was wondering what ever one likes to wear when there going to do a lot of shooting and if there is a reason why you prefer that type of clothing? I am mostly talking about in moderate climates 60 to 90 degrees but cold or hot weather gear would be good too.

Honestly I never really think about this. I usually just wear jeans and some kind of lighter weight long sleeve shirt and boots but the other day I wore a shot sleeve Columbia shirt (not the fishing kind of shirt, it's more of a polo kind of shirt) and I got a pretty good strawberry on my shoulder.

Now maybe it was from bad shooting technique but I've never had a strawberry on my shoulder from shooting before. I wasn't bruised or sore or anything, just had a strawberry. I was shooting from the prone position off a shooting mat. I'm sure some improvement in my technique would probably eliminate the cause but like I said that was the first time I've ever had anything like that happen.

So that is the reason I got to thinking about this. What do you wear and If there is a reason why?

For AR fun a Borat Mankini.

...and when firing a 1903 or M1 Garand I cover with an old Imperial 10X shooting coat with a leather shoulder and nice rubber elbow cups. Absolutely no support for offhand but cheap enough to buy used on Ebay and you look old school.

It comes to mid thigh so with the mankini on some wonder if Im wearing anything at all.

I shoot out in the prairie, so I dress for the environment. Nothing special, clothes I would wear on a hike. cotton shirt, some cargo pants of some sort with a little room for flexing, Merrill shoes. I do understand about the shoulder though, as I usually wear athletic undershirts. The material of the tshirts sits right under the buttstock and can rub that spot raw. Even though the recoil does not hurt. So I keep a Beartooth recoil pad in my range bag, only need it in the summer as the colder times I usually wear a fleece.
It is very rare that I wear jeans shooting, even though they are loose, can bunch up in areas I dont like.

I usually end up wearing jeans/shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I don't like my elbows grinding around in the dirt, so it's long sleeves or a shooting mat or both.
I don't have a problem with recoil no matter what I wear, granted that's not counting a day full of win mag or 12g slug shooting, but I don't do either.

Usually if not a competition or actual training, I like to wear a red t-back thong, black fish-net stockings, ninja toe-shoes, clothes pins on my nipples, and a tan larue hat.

I tried the clothes pin thing and they kept getting knocked off when shooting prone. Are yours industrial strength and if so where did you get them?

But seriously, just what ever is appropriate for the AO.

On a square range jeans and shirt, but for field shooting/matches I like pants and shirts with pockets for knee & elbow pads. I'm currently running a Crye G3 Field Shirt and TAD Force 10 pants for this, with associated pads.
