Hey guys, just got another new Pierce action for my .308 build. I set it in my stock just to test fit and noticed that the small screw that goes up through the bottom of the side bolt release doesn't quite screw in far enough to be flush. Would it be OK for me just to take the screw out, grind it down about 1mm and put it back in?

In my Pierces that screw does not have much purchase in the receiver, just a thread or so. I just scooped out the bedding in the stock with a knife. If you're careful you could probably file it flush too.

I had thought of scooping out bedding as well, but I may first see if I can file it down at all so that my bedding doesn't look ugly :)
